    Senator Jim Battin (R – La Quinta) announced today the Golden State Water Company – sponsors of a free program titled “Operation Gobble” – has again invited his office to assist with the distribution of over 100 frozen turkeys to a charitable organization located in the 37th Senate District serving those less fortunate during this holiday season. 

    Battin will distribute the turkeys to the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission, Martha’s Village and Kitchen and Shelter From The Storm from his Palm Desert office on, Thursday, November 16, 2007 at 10:30 a.m.

The scramble format charity event will be held at Shadow Mountain Golf Resort in Palm Desert. Registration for golf begins at 11:00am, with a shotgun start beginning at 12:30pm. Desert European Motorcars Ltd. of Rancho Mirage is offering a free Porsche for the first golfer to hit a hole-in-one on its designated hole.     Palm Springs ­ Gary Jeandron¹s campaign for Assembly switched gears for a moment as the Police Chief of Palm Springs traded in his blue uniform for an apron and big pot of chili. Jeandron was taking as part in the Cattle Call.

    Chili Cook-off on Saturday November 3rd an event sponsored by the Brawley Chamber of Commerce in the Cattle Call Arena.
