Senator Battin to Participate with “Operation Gobble”

Senator Jim Battin (R – La Quinta) announced today the Golden State Water Company – sponsors of a free program titled “Operation Gobble” – has again invited his office to assist with the distribution of over 100 frozen turkeys to a charitable organization located in the 37th Senate District serving those less fortunate during this holiday season.

Battin will distribute the turkeys to the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission, Martha’s Village and Kitchen and Shelter From The Storm from his Palm Desert office on, Thursday, November 16, 2007 at 10:30 a.m.

The Golden State Water Company in association with the California Water Association began Operation Gobble in 1988.  The event was created as a meaningful, non-denominational program to assist those in need for the Thanksgiving holidays.  The California Water Association is a non-profit organization of private water companies in California.

Battin’s office is responsible for coordinating the logistics of selecting and inviting the charity, and coordinating the pick up arrangements.
