Linda Evans New La Quinta Mayor
Linda Evans was sworn in as the new Mayor of La Quinta this week. After having served on the La Quinta Council for several years, Linda comes well prepared for the leadership position. Evans who has forged strong community ties will be well prepared for the leadership role. Our very best to Linda.
The City of La Quinta will hold a holiday open house for the public on Tuesday, December 16, from 5:00-6:00 p.m. at City Hall. This event will serve as a meet-and-greet with the City Council, which includes newly elected Mayor, Linda Evans, and Council Members, John Peña and Robert Radi, along with Mayor Pro Tem Kristy Franklin and Lee Osborne.
The City will also showcase its new Customer Service Center. The City has dedicated itself to enhancing customer service, while decreasing wait time by incorporating a one-stop shop. All permitting and licensing is processed at the permits counter, rather than individual departments throughout the City. “We are making it easier to do business in La Quinta,” states Mayor Evans.
The La Quinta Chamber of Commerce recently moved from the Library and is now located within City Hall. Attendees will have the opportunity to see their new space and learn about their plans for an interactive Visitor’s Center. Tours of City Hall will be given and – in tune with La Quinta’s “Healthy Eating Active Living” program – fresh, healthy appetizers will be served.
‘Tis the season to give and there is much to celebrate. Donation boxes are on site for the La Quinta Police Toy Drive and Shelter From the Storm. An unwrapped toy for those in need would be welcomed.
