Tribute To Al Vasquez

What an honor to have known Al Vasquez, truly a Renaissance man.
My first impression of Al was—what a gentleman! He was soft-spoken, so polite and very thoughtful.  Al was a Marine—strong, faithful and loyal. Al was a man of incredible character. We should all be teaching our children and our grandchildren to be patriotic Americans and true Constitutionalists, like Al Vasquez.
Professionally, he didn’t just own La Prensa Hispana, the only bi-lingual newspaper in the Coachella Valley, he was also an editor, reporter and writer for the newspaper. We all looked forward to reading Al’s precise, pointed and insightful views in his regular column. No fake news from Al, just solid, honest and truthful reporting.
And, thank God, Al was a staunch conservative. His exceptional political knowledge and insight made him a favorite guest on The Elise Richmond Show.     I looked forward to interviewing him every month, because no matter what I asked him, Al Vasquez had the experience and knowledge to concisely answer with the most up-to-date insight. I loved interviewing him and my audience loved his being a guest on the show.
Who can tell us how many candidates Al helped to get elected? He gave of his time, political experience, resources, money, and newspaper space generously.  Al was a go-to guy for every conservative candidate in the Coachella Valley.
Al was a proud family man, who loved Ana and his family, above all else.  It is impossible to write about Al without mentioning Ana. Al and Ana were definitely a power couple, not just owning and running La Prensa Hispana, but having a definite, positive influence on the entire Coachella Valley.
When someone dies, we all say, “Oh, they will be sorely missed by their family and friends.” This is certainly true of Al. However, Al Vasquez will not be missed just by his family, but rather by the entire Coachella Valley.  There is no one to ever replace Al Vasquez. RIP, Al! The entire Coachella Valley will never be the same.

Qué honor haber conocido Al Vásquez, realmente un verdadero hombre del Renacimiento.
Mi primera impresión de Al fué–¡qué caballero!– Él era tranquilo, educado y muy pensativo. Al fué un infante de Marina, fuerte, fiel y leal. Al era un hombre de carácter increíble. Todos nosotros debemos enseñar a nuestros hijos y nietos a ser patriotas Americanos y verdaderos constitucionalistas, como lo fueron Al Vásquez.
Profesionalmente, no sólo dirigía La Prensa Hispana, el único periódico bilingüe en el Valle de Coachella, también fué editor, periodista y escritor para el periódico. Todos esperábamos recibir la lectura de sus precisas, acentuadas y profundas opiniones en su columna regular. No había falsas noticias en Al, sólo sólida, honesta y veraz información.
Y, gracias a Dios, Al era un firme conservador. Su excepcional conocimiento político y visión le hizo huésped preferido del Elise Richmond Show. Yo estaba a la espera de entrevistarlo cada mes, porque no importaba lo que le pidiera, Al Vásquez tenía la experiencia y conocimiento para responder concisamente con la información más actualizada. Me encantaba entrevistarlo, y mi audiencia apreciaba que participara como huésped.
¿Quién puede decirnos a cuántos candidatos ayudó Al a conseguir su elección? Donó generosamente su tiempo, experiencia política, recursos, dinero y espacio del periódico. Al fué el consejero de cada candidato conservador en el Valle de Coachella.
Al era un orgulloso hombre de familia, que amaba a Ana y sus hijos por encima de todo. Es imposible escribir sobre él sin mencionar a Ana. Al y Ana eran definitivamente una poderosa pareja, no sólo como dueños y dirigentes de La Prensa Hispana, sino por su influencia positiva en todo el Valle de Coachella.
Cuando alguien muere, todos decimos, “Oh, será muy recordado por sus familiares y amigos.” Esto es indiscutiblemente cierto sobre Al. Sin embargo, Al Vásquez no será recordado sólo por su familia, sino por todo el Valle de Coachella. Nunca habrá alguien que llegue a sustituir a Al Vásquez. ¡RIP, Al! el Valle de Coachella ya nunca será lo mismo.
