The Woman’s Club of Indio (WCI) presented a sold-out program “Women on a Mission”, a James Bond 007 themed luncheon and show at the Heritage Palms Country Club. The program opened with a photo booth by Photally Perfect, a shopping bazaar, and a silent auction. Then at noon a delicious lunch was followed with wonderful entertainment from Patricia Welch. But wait! There’s more! It closed with a fabulous Macy’s Men’s fashion show featuring Indio Police Officers Association members, Patrick Farrell from the College of the Desert Foundation and 7-month old Ezra.
WCI is the oldest service club in the Coachella Valley and its mission is to provide active, committed and civic minded participation that enhances the local community. President of WCI, Bonnie Tucker welcomed 250 attendees to their 15th Annual event Chaired by Past President Gloria Franz. Franz included a welcome letter in the programs that states, “We are 123 members strong and growing! The Woman’s Club of Indio started as a mobile library in 1912 and now has served our community through projects and fundraising endeavors for 108 years.’”
The club is funding many programs this year including high school scholarships, an Empowering Women Through Education scholarship, Coachella Valley Rescue Mission, Coachella Valley History Museum historical preservation donations, FIND Food Bank, Desert Best Friend’s Closet, Read with Me, the Ophelia Project, COD Foundation (supporting the new East Valley Campus) and financial support to the Indio Police K-9 Unit and many more.

El Club de Mujeres de Indio (WCI) presentó su programa con entradas agotadas “Mujeres en una Misión”, con un almuerzo temático y espectáculo estilo James Bond 007 en el Club de Campo Heritage Palms. El programa se abrió con un fotomatón de Photally Perfect, un bazar de compras y una subasta silenciosa. Luego, al mediodía, siguió un delicioso almuerzo con un maravilloso entretenimiento de Patricia Welch. ¡Pero espera! ¡Hay más! Se cerró con un fabuloso desfile de moda de Macy’s Men con miembros de la Asociación de Oficiales de Policía de Indio, Patrick Farrell de la Fundación College of the Desert y Ezra de 7 meses de edad.
