DOUBLE DUTY FOR THE $5.2 MILLION MECCA FACILITY New library and sheriff sub-station opens in Mecca

The new Mecca library will receive $260,000 for new books and the facility is over twice as large as the previous library. The New library will also serve as the Mecca Sheriff sub-station. Residents expressed satisfaction with the Sheriff sub-station being close by. Hundreds of residents and dignitaries were in attendance for the opening ceremonies where Riverside County Supervisor Roy Wilson cut the ribbon. Riverside County Sheriff Stan Sniff joined Supervisor Wilson in clipping the red ribbon. The facility is located at 91-260 Avenue 66 in Mecca across from the Farm Worker Service Center.
