América Leticia Figueroa

En todos lados encontramos grandes héroes de la vida, aquellos que recibieron los golpes y continuaron, aquellos que cayeron de rodillas y levantaron sus manos al Cielo, para recibir la energía Divina y vencer el destino… América Leticia Figueroa es una mujer con mucha fuerza y resiliencia, una mujer que se aferro a la mano de Dios para sobrellevar las pruebas que le puso el destino, una verdadera campeona de la vida.

¿Quién es América Leticia?
Soy una persona que nunca se rindió, sin importar lo que le deparó la vida, tengo defectos y virtudes, pero aprendí que, a pesar de los golpes del destino, nunca debo quedarme en el suelo sin hacer nada, pase lo que pase, sigo avanzando, porque el tiempo no se detendrá y, a pesar de que la vida es desafiante, no dejo de perseverar.

¿El motor de su vida
es el amor a los niños?
Es verdad, vengo de una familia de profesores, no solo mis padres fueron maestros de primaria, tías y primos también han perseguido la enseñanza. He trabajado en preescolar durante años, tengo un permiso de maestro de Desarrollo Infantil del Estado de California, (Child Development Teacher), también me he certificado en Perú, en Capacitación en Ideología de Género, y ahora obtuve el Titulo en Ciencias de la Educación Temprana, ECE (Associate of Science in Early Childhood Education)

¿Qué están aprendiendo
nuestros niños?
Ese es un gran tema de debate, por eso es el título de mis conferencias… “¿Qué Están Aprendiendo Nuestros Niños?”, es un ciclo de charlas cuya meta es crear conciencia acerca del ataque en contra de la niñez, la familia, la fe, la moral, y los valores, abriendo los ojos a la realidad del adoctrinamiento en las escuelas públicas, la ideología de género, la educación de sexualidad integral, y el aborto, entre otras cosas…
¿Como comenzó
esta pasión?
Tomé mis primeras clases en COD en el 2003, fue un desafío muy difícil, porque era madre soltera de dos hermosas niñas, teniendo que trabajar a tiempo completo y tomando una clase o dos por semestre, pero abandoné la escuela en el 2004 para casarme y atender a mi familia …

¿Pero no se dió
por vencida?
Nunca… volví a estudiar diez años después, con tres hijos más de mi matrimonio…

¿Retorno a los estudios
con cinco hijos?
Si… regresé en el 2014, mientras trabajaba a tiempo completo, cuidaba a mi familia y servía en el Ministerio…

¿Era mucho trabajo?
Si, de hecho comencé a tener algunos problemas de ansiedad, así que me vi obligada a tomar otro descanso para concentrarme en mi salud, pero valió la pena, ya que en el 2015 logré obtener mi Certificado en Estudios Bíblicos, del International College of Bible Theology.

¿Pero no bajo los brazos?
No, finalmente, gracias al aliento de mi hija Stephanie y a mi amiga y mentora, María Avalos, regresé y me gradué en Ciencias en Educación Temprana y me certifiqué en Supervisora de Centros Infantiles.
Pero el tema no es solo el estudio, sino el trabajo…
Por supuesto… soy cofundadora de “Alliance To Protect Children”, colaboro en la asociación “Con Mis Hijos No Te Metas USA”, y fui miembro de la mesa directiva de “Informed Parents of California”, actualmente soy parte de la mesa directiva de UME (Unidad de Ministerios Evangélicos) en el Valle de Coachella, y miembro de la Coalición por la Vida, Fe y Familia (Life, Faith, and Family Coalition) del California Family Council.

¿También anduvo en el ámbito político?
Sin ser política, me aventuré en esta rama buscando ser una voz de la razón en la legislatura a favor de la familia, la vida, y la fe. Puedo decir que, aunque no logré llegar a la posición, gracias al apoyo de la gente y al arduo trabajo de quienes me apoyaron voluntariamente, superamos la meta que nos habíamos impuesto de 51,000 votos, ya que la tendencia de votaciones en el distrito 56 durante periodo presidencial es de 93,000 a 97,000 votantes; y nosotros obtuvimos casi 56,000 algo nunca logrado por un candidato conservador en el distrito. Quedo enormemente agradecida con Dios y con la gente que creyó en mí, y continúo alzando la voz y exponiendo la verdad.

¿Y le queda tiempo para todo?
Es complicado, pero siento que Dios me dio una misión que debo cumplir siendo una voz para los niños y familias de California, así como la iglesia, participando activamente a nivel legislativo, organizando eventos informativos para educar a iglesias y comunidades del estado, y exigiendo transparencia y responsabilidad de nuestros servidores públicos.

¿Qué es “El Cafecito”?
Durante diez años fui Pastora de Niños y, actualmente soy líder y mentora de mujeres, por eso cree el ministerio El Cafecito, enfocado en la restauración, edificación y empoderamiento de la mujer, incluso aproveche las nuevas tecnologías para cruzar las fronteras del mundo, con el programa El Cafecito con América Figueroa, el cual se transmite además por Facebook y YouTube, y radio.
Todo ese ímpetu, esa fuerza por ayudar a los otros, necesita del soporte de la familia y amigos…
Por supuesto… me gustaría dar gracias y gloria a Dios y a mi familia, mi esposo, mi mamá, mis hijos, especialmente a mi hija mayor Michelle, quien cuidó a sus hermanos durante incontables días, para que yo pudiera asistir a la escuela o hacer la tarea, también a mis hermanos, especialmente a mi hermana Vero por su amor, su apoyo y aliento incondicional. A mis profesoras y mentoras del Departamento de ECE del Colegio del Desierto quienes ahora se han convertido en mis amigas, que creyeron en mí y me animaron a perseguir mis sueños.

¿Actualmente vive en la ciudad de Indio, California?
Si, junto a mi esposo y nuestros tres hijos menores Yeshua, Samuel, y Cristopher, pertenezco a la congregación de la iglesia Fraternidad Cristiana de Indio.

En esta época de pandemia, donde la vida nos golpea duro, ¿Qué mensaje desea transmitirles a los lectores de La Prensa Hispana?…
Que nunca decaigan, que Dios está siempre a su lado, que la voluntad de Dios es perfecta y Él nunca se equivoca. A quienes desean volver a la escuela, terminar la escuela secundaria o inscribirse en la universidad por primera vez, les digo que nunca es demasiado tarde… Si necesitan orientación, pueden comunicarse conmigo, podemos resolverlo juntos… El momento es ahora, no se rindan, no dejen de perseverar, están más cerca hoy que antes… Que Dios los Bendiga…

Who is América Leticia?
I am a person who never gave up, no matter what life threw at me, I have flaws and virtues, but I’ve learned that, despite the blows of fate, I should never stay on the ground doing nothing, whatever happens, I must continue moving forward, because time won’t stop and even though life is challenging, I shouldn’t stop persevering.

Is the engine of her life
the love of children?
It’s true, I come from a family of school teachers, not only my parents were elementary school teachers, some of my aunts and cousins ​​have also pursued teaching. I have worked in preschool for many years, I have a Child Development Teacher permit from the State of California, I have also certified in Peru, in Gender Ideology Training, and now I have an Associate of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education.

– What are our
children learning?
That is a great topic of debate, that is exactly the title of my lectures… “What Are Our Children Learning?”, Is a series of talks with the goal to raise awareness about the attack against children, the family, the faith, morals, and values, opening parents’ eyes to the reality of indoctrination in public schools, gender ideology, comprehensive sexuality education, and abortion, among other things …
-How did this passion start?
I took my first classes at COD in 2003, it was a very difficult challenge, because I was a single mother of two beautiful girls, having to work full time and taking a class or two per semester, but I dropped out of school in 2004 to get married and take care of my family …

– But you didn’t give up?
Never … I went back to study ten years later, with three more children from my marriage …

– Returned to school with five children?
Yes … I went back to school in 2014, while working full time, taking care of my family and serving in Ministry …

– Was it a lot of work?
Yes, I actually started having some anxiety issues, so I was forced to take another break to focus on my health, but it was worth it, as in 2015 I managed to earn my Certificate in Biblical Studies from the International College of Bible Theology.

But you didn’t give up?
No, finally, thanks to the encouragement of my daughter Stephanie and my friend and mentor, María Avalos, I came back and graduated from Science in Early Childhood Education and became a Certified Child Center Site Supervisor.
But the issue is not only study, but work …
Of course… I am a co-founder of “Alliance To Protect Children”, I collaborate in the association “Con Mis Hijos No Te Metas USA”, I was a member of the board of “Informed Parents of California”, I am currently part of the board of directors of UME (Evangelical Ministries Unit) in the Coachella Valley, and a member of the California Family Council’s Life, Faith, and Family Coalition.

Did you also walk in the political sphere?
Without being a politician, I ventured into this branch seeking to be a voice of reason in the legislature in favor of family, life, and faith. I can say that, although I did not make it to the position, thanks to the support of the people and the hard work of those who voluntarily supported me, we exceeded the goal we had set for ourselves of 51,000 votes, as the voting trend in the 56th district during presidential term is 93,000 to 97,000 voters; and we got almost 56,000 something never achieved by a conservative candidate in the district before. I am enormously grateful to God and to the people who believed in me, and I continue to raise my voice and expose the truth.

And you have time for everything?
It’s complicated, but I feel like God gave me a mission that I must fulfill by being a voice for California’s children, families, and the church actively participating at the legislative level, organizing informational events to educate churches and communities across the state, and demanding transparency and accountability from our public servers.

What is “El Cafecito”?
For ten years I was a Children’s Pastor and, currently I am a leader and mentor of women, that is why I created the El Cafecito ministry, focused on the restoration, edification and empowerment of women, even taking advantage of new technologies to cross the borders of the world, with the show El Cafecito with América Figueroa, which is also broadcasted on Facebook and YouTube, and radio.

All that impetus, that strength to help others, needs the support of family and friends …
Of course… I would like to give thanks and glory to God and to my family, my husband, my mother, my children, especially my eldest daughter Michelle, who took care of her siblings for countless days, so that I could attend school or do homework, also to my siblings, especially my sister Vero for her love, support and unconditional encouragement. To my teachers and mentors from College of the Desert in the ECE Department who have now become my friends, who believed in me and encouraged me to pursue my dreams.

Do you currently live in the city of Indio, California?
Yes, I do live in Indio along with my husband and our three youngest children Yeshua, Samuel, and Cristopher, I belong to the congregation of the Fraternidad Cristiana de Indio church.

May they never dismay, that God is always by their side, that God’s will is perfect and He is never wrong.
