Award Winning Polynesian Dancers to Perform at the Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival

Indio, CA – The Annual Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival is excited to announce The Cook Islands Polynesian Dance Show to the lineup with a performance on the Pageant Stage on February 22nd at 5:00 p.m.
The government of the Cook Islands is proud to present the Cook Islands Polynesian Dance Show to Riverside County. Cook Islands Polynesian Dance Show is comprised of the famed Akirata Dance Troupe, a dynamic performing cultural arts troupe made up of top Cook Islands’ dancers who are both current and former national dance champions. Fairgoers of all ages will see a spectacle that brings stories of the island’s ancestors to life through impassioned movement, traditional costume, rousing song, and vigorous drumming – an art that has been passed down from generation to generation, and preserved meticulously in this island nation that is nearly 5,000 miles away.
The Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival is presented by Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, the desert’s leader in gaming and entertainment. The Fair, in Indio, runs February 16-25. Gates are open 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. from Friday-Monday and noon-10 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday.
