¿Debe un Servidor Público Intimidar a sus Constituyentes? ¿Ya no tenemos Libertad de Expresión?

Como mujer de fé, madre de familia, y educadora, lamento enormemente haber estado ignorante cuando la Legislatura de California estaba cocinando la AB 329. La información me llego 2 años más tarde al igual que a muchos padres. Es por eso que me hice el compromiso no solo de educarme, sino de informar a otros padres por todos los medios posibles.
Después de insistir en los distritos escolares, asistir a diversas reuniones, preguntar y confrontar exigiendo transparencia, para solo recibir un: “usted necesita ir a hablar a Sacramento.” Me dirigí a quien me representa en Sacramento y que además apoyó esta horrible ley; el Asambleísta Eduardo García, Distrito 56.
Tras un breve encuentro, una reunión formal, tres manifestaciones en el Capitolio, cientos de comentarios públicos ante el Departamento Estatal de Educación, dos plantones y una manifestación en la Oficina de Educación del Condado de Riverside, decidimos manifestarnos cada viernes frente a su oficina.
Al parecer, nuestro Asambleísta Eduardo Garcia se ha tomado personal el que se este informando a otros padres y pidiendo cuentas a quienes apoyaron esta ley. Al igual que la Asambleísta Shirley Weber quien la escribió, ellos (los Legisladores que la apoyaron) también tienen la autoridad para escribir una propuesta de ley que proteja la inocencia de nuestros hijos.
Señor Eduardo García, como se lo he dicho antes, esta situación va más allá de un partido político. Se trata de defender el derecho de los padres a decidir lo que es mejor para nuestros hijos y protegerlos de lo que el estado y el departamento de educación intentan enseñarles. Se trata de defender la familia, los valores, la moral, la fe, nuestra cultura y comunidad.
Usted acepto un cargo como Servidor Público y aunque no le guste, su deber es escuchar a sus constituyentes y en lugar de silenciarnos, ser nuestra voz en Sacramento. El que usted me acose enviando gente a boicotear mis presentaciones, el hecho de que enlode mi testimonio llamándome alarmista e insinuando que estoy presentando mentiras, cuando solamente soy una ciudadana informando los hechos a los demás, me obliga a enviar la siguiente declaración pública: SI ALGO NOS LLEGASE A SUCEDER A MI FAMILIA O A MÍ, YO LO RESPONSABILIZO A USTED Y A TODO SU GABINETE.
Eduardo Garcia Asambleísta, no olvide que usted sigue siendo un servidor público y como tal, usted trabaja para nosotros, y no al revés.

 

As a woman of faith, a mother and educator, I greatly regret having been ignorant when the California Legislature was cooking AB 329. The information got to me 2 years later, just as it happened to many parents. That’s why I made a commitment not only to educate myself, but to inform other parents by all possible means.
After insisting at the school districts, attending several meetings, asking and confronting demanding transparency, only to receive a: “you need to take this to Sacramento.” I went to the one who represents me in Sacramento, and who also supported this horrible law; Assemblymember Eduardo García.
After a brief encounter, a formal meeting, three rallies at the Capitol, hundreds of public comments at the Department of Education, two sit outs, and a rally at the Riverside County Office of Education, we decided to rally every Friday in front of his office.
Apparently, the Assemblymember has taken personal the fact that I am informing other parents and making accountable those who supported this law. Just as Assemblymember Shirley Weber who authored it, they (the legislators who supported it) too have the authority to write a Bill that protects the innocence of our children.
Mr. García, as I have told you before, this situation goes beyond a political party. This is about defending parents’ right to decide what is best for our children and protect them from what the state and the department of education attempt to teach them. This is about family, values, morals, faith, our culture, and community.
You accepted a position as a Public Servant and whether you like it or not, your duty is to listen to your constituents and instead of silencing us, be our voice up in Sacramento. The fact that you harass me sending people to follow me around and boycott my presentations, the fact that you muddy my testimony by calling me a scaremonger and insinuate that I’m presenting lies to people, when I’m just a citizen informing the facts to others, force me to send out the following public statement: IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO ME OR MY FAMILY, I HOLD YOU AND YOUR WHOLE CABINET, PERSONALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR IT.
Mr. Assemblymember, don’t forget you’re still a public servant, and as such, you work for the people and not the other way around.
