Tribute To Al Vasquez

My friendship with Al Vasquez and Ana Rascon Vasquez has been that of admiration and high esteem. Their contributions to our community are many and most are focused on sensitivity to the Hispanic population.
He and his wife, Ana passionately and effortlessly contribute in so many ways to the betterment of our community. His passion for journalism kept his dream alive. Al wrote with clarity and a strong interest in topics that motivated him and served our community.
He published articles on various topics in La Prensa Hispana and articulated information in Spanish, his native language and in English.
Al’s articles in La Prensa enlightened the reader with education, commentary, and offered clarification as needed. I never found ambiguity in his articles as they were pretty straightforward.
For those with political aspirations, often the articles challenged the reader to think outside the box and arrive at their own conclusions.
In reading his articles I found that his work was more about the life around him and he contributed with high regards and awareness.  Al’s well-established contributions were in the best interest of our community.
He was generous in the financial support to those eager to pursue their education in journalism. In a quiet manner, he donated financially to organizations helping the disadvantaged. I learned that Al’s contributions whether in a conversation or in his written work were often solution based and focused on problem-solving while encouraging others to learn from their past. His integrity would shine through as he offered his wisdom and knowledge with a gentle voice and an open heart.
He shared about life not getting easier, but instead, getting better. Al’s tremendous contributions to us, his friends and his community will not be forgotten. He touched my life through his friendship, his integrity, and his work.
My friend Al has transitioned into a better life with Our Lord Jesus Christ yet his work leaves an atmosphere of trust and a wide pathway of distinguished memories that generations to come can refer to and reflect on.

Mi amistad con Al Vásquez y Ana Rascón Vásquez ha sido de gran admiración y alta estima, porque sus contribuciones a nuestra comunidad han sido muchas y, la mayoría, estuvieron centradas en sensibilizar a la población hispana.
Al y su esposa Ana han contribuido apasionadamente, de muchas formas, al mejoramiento de nuestra comunidad, la pasión por el periodismo les dio vida a su sueño.
Al Vásquez escribió con claridad y gran interés sobre los diversos temas que lo motivaban para servir a nuestra comunidad, publicando sus artículos en La Prensa Hispana, en sus dos idiomas, el español su lengua materna y el inglés.
Sus escritos iluminaron y educaron a los lectores, clarificando nuestras mentes, sin ambigüedades, solo buscando la motivación, desafiando al lector con posiciones políticas a pensar fuera de sus límites, forzándole a llegar a sus propias conclusiones.
Sus artículos eran, muchas veces, sobre su experiencia de vida, aconsejándonos con fundadas aportaciones desde el respeto y la conciencia, para el mejor interés de nuestra comunidad.
Fue muy generoso al ayudar financieramente a quienes deseaban proseguir sus estudios en periodismo, por esa razón, desde el anonimato, hizo aportes económicos a organizaciones de ayuda a los desfavorecidos.
Al Vásquez con sus contribuciones en una plática o en su trabajo escrito, nos enseñaba a solucionar los problemas, animándonos a aprender de su vivencia personal, donde su integridad brillaba con una voz suave y un corazón abierto, en la misma forma como ofreció su sabiduría y conocimiento, enseñándonos que en la vida nada se consigue fácilmente, pero con esfuerzo se puede mejorar y lograr los sueños, por eso agradezco sus enormes contribuciones a nosotros, sus amigos y su comunidad, que nunca olvidaremos. No dudo que cambió mi vida a través de su amistad, su integridad y su trabajo.
Mi amigo Al, ha logrado su transición a una vida mejor con nuestro Señor Jesucristo. Con todo su distinguido trabajo, deja un ambiente de confianza y una amplia vía de recuerdos para que las generaciones venideras puedan consultarle y reflexionar.
