The City of Coachella and Coachella Valley Enterprise Zone hosted event to Welcome the Coachella Kidney Institute

The Coachella Kidney Institute represents more than just a new health services amenity for the City of Coachella residents; it is the culmination of diligent work by a team that includes Dr. Naren Chandrashekar and Dr. J.E. Chandra Shekar, facility developer Brian Orr (Orr Builders), the City of Coachella and the Coachella Valley Enterprise Zone.
Dr. Shekar, a prominent physician, located here in the Coachella Valley, demonstrates his continued support for the Coachella Valley as well as the City of Coachella as evidenced through his newly completed Coachella
Kidney Institute. Citizens of Coachella and the other east valley cities are now travelling to Indio, Palm Desert,and Rancho Mirage for their renal care.
Well qualified physicians and staff will take care of the patients, including Dr. Naren Chandrashekar MD, FASN who is board certified in Nephrology and Internal Medicine and is the medical director for the facility. He is practicing in the valley for 11 years. Dr. Jambur E. Chandrashekar MD, FRCPC, FACP, who is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology by the Royal College of Physicians of Canada is the Administrator/Medical Director of the facility. He has practiced in the Coachella Valley for 34 years. Both physicians are on the staff of JFK Memorial Hospital and Eisenhower Medical Center.
ORR Builders and Dr. Shekar are extremely grateful to the City of Coachella and all agencies and departments having played a role in the successful completion of this project. Brian Orr expressed his special thanks to the City of Coachella, Mayor Eduardo Garcia, Jonathan Hoy of the City Planning and Engineering departments as well as the Department of Building and Safety. From an economic development perspective, I am extremely excited to see a private investor, investing in an Enterprise Zone community said Mark Weber, Manager of the Coachella Valley Enterprise Zone. The City of Coachella, like the City of Indio, has invested in its downtown in recent years, and this building is helping set the standard for new development along Sixth St. in Coachella. As a former Chairperson of the Coachella Chamber of Commerce, it is great to see investment occurring in the heart of the city. Healthcare services are growing to meet the needs of our growing population. Weber further stated, “As a community stakeholder, it is nice to see this critical medical service locating so close to the people in need of the service.”
Linda Evans (Bender), Director, Physician & Community Development stated, “JFK Memorial Hospital is proud to see Dr. Shekar, one of its practicing physicians investing in the community of Coachella. Mayor Eduardo Garcia commented that, “Dr. Shekar, as a JFK physician and a private entity, has made this investment in our community.
