Gran Celebración por Un Año Más en el Centro de Embarazo Refugio RPC en el Valle de Coachella

Romanos 12:4-6 “Así como nuestro cuerpo tiene muchas partes y cada parte tiene una función especial, así es con el cuerpo de Cristo. Somos muchas partes de un cuerpo, y todos nos pertenecemos unos a otros. En su gracia, Dios nos ha dado diferentes dones para hacer bien ciertas cosas. Entonces, si Dios te ha dado la capacidad de profetizar, habla con tanta fe como Dios te ha dado”.

Estos versículos del capítulo 12 de Romanos realmente resumen el maravilloso evento que tuvo lugar en el Refuge Pregnancy Center en Indio el jueves 16 de marzo de 2023. Fue la celebración del cumpleaños de su misión dada por Dios aquí en el valle. En este viaje de 18 años, el Centro de Embarazo Refugio (RPC) ha servido y bendecido a tantas mujeres embarazadas y parejas. En este día especial de celebración, varios líderes comunitarios vinieron a apoyar la hermosa causa que esta organización sin fines de lucro valora: la vida. ¡Eso es verdaderamente lo que era una celebración de la vida!
La oración de apertura estuvo a cargo de Enrique Orellana, Pastor del Centro Cristiano “Fuente de Vida” en Coachella. Agradeció a Dios por el valor de la vida y por cada persona que ha contribuido a RPC. Compartió la historia de amor de una película con el mensaje subyacente de que “la vida lo cambia todo”. Este es el mismo mensaje que expresó cuando escribió un poderoso testimonio para el diario La Prensa Hispana sobre una joven que decidió tener a su bebé. A esto siguió una bienvenida y una presentación de Craig Waters, presidente de la junta de RPC, quien comenzó compartiendo la escritura de 1 de Pedro 4: 7-11 “Cada uno de ustedes debe usar cualquier don que haya recibido para servir a los demás, como fieles administradores de Dios. gracia en sus diversas formas” (versículo 10). Agregó que esto es lo que es el Centro de Embarazo Refugio con todos los voluntarios y el personal que sirve y animó a la audiencia a bendecirlos a ellos y al edificio con aceite de unción. Luego compartió la historia de cómo comenzó esta misión en 2005 con una joven audaz llamada Danielle Brattrud, fundadora de RPC. En ese momento brindó apoyo cuando una chica de su grupo juvenil estaba pasando por una crisis con su embarazo y no contaba con el apoyo de sus padres, los únicos que sabían era el novio y ella, esta joven de La Quinta High School quería abortar y Danielle trató de aconsejarla para que no lo hiciera, pero lo hizo. Después de esto, Danielle se sintió guiada por el Señor a ser voluntaria en el centro local de embarazo en crisis en Palm Desert. Durante su tiempo de voluntariado, el Señor puso en su corazón abrir un centro de embarazo en Indio. A partir de ahí, comenzó a recaudar fondos y reunir un comité directivo, que comenzó en su garaje y teléfonos celulares. Dios abrió las puertas del primer centro en Indio cerca de Golf Center Parkway por Amistad High School en 2012. Comenzaron a colaborar con Amistad High School, Thomas Jefferson Middle School y Shadow Hills High School con Programas de Prevención de Embarazo con el objetivo de enseñar el valor de la vida.
Más tarde, todos salimos a caminar para ver el corte de la cinta y ese fue un momento impresionante. También hubo una presentación de premios del gobierno local y estatal. V. Manuel Pérez envió un representante para premiar a RPC y la Cámara de Comercio de Indio también los reconoció. En general, fue un momento bendecido en el que líderes de diferentes orígenes se unieron para apoyar esta hermosa causa y ayudar a celebrar el 18.º aniversario de RPC.

Great Celebration for One More Year at the Refugio RPC Pregnancy Center in the Coachella Valley

Romans 12:4-6 “Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you.”

These verses from Romans Chapter 12 truly sum up the wonderful event that took place at the Refuge Pregnancy Center in Indio on Thursday March 16th, 2023. It was the birthday celebration of their God-given mission here in the valley. In this 18-year journey Refuge Pregnancy Center (RPC) has served and blessed so many pregnant women and couples. On this special celebration day, several community leaders came to support the beautiful cause that this non-profit organization values: life. That is truly what it was a celebration of life!
The opening prayer was led by Enrique Orellana, Pastor for “Fuente de Vida” Christian Center in Coachella. He thanked God for the value of life and every single person that has contributed to RPC. He shared the love story line of a movie with the underlying message that “life changes everything.” This is the same message he voiced when he wrote a powerful testimony for La Prensa Hispana Newspaper about a young lady who decided to have her baby. That was followed by a welcome and introduction by Craig Waters, RPC Board Chair, he began by sharing the scripture of 1st Peter 4:7-11 “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms” (verse 10). He added that this is what the Refuge Pregnancy Center is with all the volunteers and staff that serve and he encouraged the audience to bless them and the building with anointing oil. Then he shared the history of how this mission began in 2005 with one bold young lady named Danielle Brattrud, founder of RPC. At that time, she provided support when a girl from her youth group was going through a crisis with her pregnancy and she had no support from her parents, the only ones that knew about it were the boyfriend and her, this young La Quinta High School senior wanted to have an abortion and Danielle tried to counsel her out of it, but she went through with it. After this, Danielle felt led by the Lord to volunteer in the local crisis pregnancy center in Palm Desert. During her time of volunteering the Lord put in her heart to start a pregnancy center in Indio. From there she began fundraising and gathering up a board, which began in her garage and cell phones. God opened up the doors to the first center in Indio off Golf Center Parkway by Amistad High School in 2012. They started collaborating with Amistad High School, Thomas Jefferson Middle School and Shadow HIlls High School with Pregnancy Prevention Programs with the goal to teach the value of life.
Later on, we all walked outside to see the cutting of the ribbon take place and that was a breath-taking moment. There was also a presentation of local and state government awards. V. Manuel Perez sent a representative to award RPC and Indio Chamber of Commerce recognized them as well. Overall, it was a blessed time where leaders of different backgrounds came together to support this beautiful cause and help celebrate RPC’s 18th Year Birthday!
