DESERT HOT SPRINGS

Supervisor John J. Benoit joined Mission Springs Water District officials in the groundbreaking of the district’s $10.3 million project to protect the district’s pristine water supply. Replacing more than 1,400 septic tanks will protect the Mission Creek and Desert Hot Springs aquifers, the main sources of award-winning drinking water and world-renowned mineral springs that give Desert Hot Springs its name and are vital to tourism. Protecting groundwater is a benefit to the Coachella Valley as a whole.
