Palm Springs Republican Headquarters Opens

The California Republican Party and the Palm Springs Republican Women Federated held a Grand Opening Ceremony this week to officially commemorate their party headquarters. Many Coachella Valley candidates and party supporters swarmed the offices in heat well above the century mark.

A few comments were heard comparing the weather heat with the anticipated heated campaigns now getting underway. The fellowship had the feel of a family reunion as activists of all ages reconnected and shared their stories of past campaigns. Many of those attending were arriving from Ontario where the McCain campaign had just finished launching their Latino Coalition.

Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack was the keynote speaker and she handed over the microphone to Congressman Connie Mack of Florida, her husband was very well received by the crowd of approximately 200 staunch Republicans sitting outside, in the shade, but nevertheless rather toasty environment.

The candidates, state and local politicians in attendance were numerous. Those spotted were Bonnie Garcia, Gary Jeandron, Brian Nestande, John Benoit, Steve Sanchez, California Republican Party leaders, many local mayors, ex-mayors, legislative aides and hundreds of party loyalists.
