Councilman Eduardo Garcia Participates At Coachella Senior Center
With palm trees swaying, pineapples on every table and the feel of the tropics, the Coachella Senior Center was transformed into the Hawaiian Islands last Friday, August 18th. Approximately 80 seniors dressed in tropical attire and leis participated in this month’s special event, “A Hawaiian Lua.” Nine contestants completed for the luau would be complete without food. Lunch was served with a Hawaiian theme.
The Coachella Senior Center is one of the most active centers in the Coachella Valley. The planning, rehearsing, and decorating for these special events not only bring the senior community together, but all generations within the community. Council member Eduardo Garcia visits the Senior Center on a weekly basis. He finds these special events most rewarding. The desire to have everyone participate, entertain, dance and make everyone feel welcome is what Councilman Garcia appreciates the most.
