Bono Mack honored with U.S. Chamber of Commerce ‘Spirit of Enterprise’ Award
Washington, DC
Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack (CA-45) was honored with the “Spirit of Enterprise” Award by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for her work in supporting businesses, jobs, and the economy in the second session of the 110th Congress. The Chamber of Commerce, the world’s largest business federation, presented Bono Mack with the award this morning in Washington D.C.
“Small businesses are the backbone of our economy,” said Bono Mack. “In these tough economic times, it is all the more critical to support pro-growth policies that help local businesses, create new jobs and ultimately strengthen our local economy. I am honored to accept the Chamber’s award and will continue to support policies that will benefit America’s businesses and working families.”
“Last year in particular, Congress had to make some tough choices, and Representative Bono Mack clearly demonstrated her commitment to the economy and keeping America competitive in an ever-changing global market,” said Thomas J. Donohue, president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber. “The Chamber is proud to present Representative Bono Mack with the Spirit of Enterprise Award on behalf of businesses large and small.”
The Chamber awards the “Spirit of Enterprise” based on rankings it gives Members of Congress for key business votes, set out in its annual publication, How They Voted. Key factors considered by the Chamber included Bono Mack’s efforts to combat counterfeiting and piracy and leadership in working to stabilize the economy.
