What a special night at East Valley Republican Women’s Headquarters in La Quinta last Tuesday

We were proud to host as dinner for Brandon Straka who is the originator of the “#WalkAway Movement.” Brandon is from New York and is a hairdresser by trade and is a young, gay man. He said he drank the cool-aid for so many years until he got tired of the nasty rhetoric and thought he’d find out for himself what the difference between the 2 parties was. After months of agonizing reality, he decided that he was going to walk away from the Democrat Party and join the Republican Party because he found himself to be against Socialism and big government.
When he attacked Social Media with his #WalkAway Campaign he lost friends and family, but he encouraged even strangers to take the bull by the horn, study the facts and leave the party of destruction and anti-constitution.
Brandon is a tall handsome charismatic man who is an eloquent speaker. He brings you his beliefs and energy in a brilliant way. I loved that he brought the crowd to tears and that he backed up what most of the Republicans feel, that we must be against big government, higher taxes and free everything. We must have stronger border control and obey the laws set forth for us.
More than 125 people were in attendance and all of them felt energized by what they heard. I think I took out of the evening the fact that our country still has an opportunity to get back on course, that people love the United States of America and want to raise their families here to be good citizens who can live the good life.
California is in trouble, just look at the gas prices. We are taxed and are being held for ransom. Our schools are not teaching our children how to make a better life.
