As the year’s hottest movies hit the big screen, Universal Studios Hollywood is the only place in L.A. to feel the action after the credits and immerse yourself in one-of-a-kind blockbuster attractions. After seeing the epic conclusion to Universal Pictures’ Jurassic World Dominion, which opened as the world’s #1 movie, guests will be able to experience “Jurassic World—The Ride,” where they will be caught in the middle of an extraordinary battle between the Indominus rex and its archrival, the Tyrannosaurus rex.
The Minions continue to rampage at Universal Studios Hollywood as the theme park gears up for the Illumination theatrical release of Universal Pictures’ latest film, “Minions: The Rise of Gru,” on July 1.
From Monday, June 27 through Sunday, July 17, the mischievous Minions will take center stage in the Universal Plaza area, where guests can meet the newest Minion, Otto, along with fan favorites Jerry and Dave, before embarking on an adventure aboard the “Despicable Me Minion Mayhem” attraction.
The Minion Activation also features exclusive guest experiences, including interacting with a 16-foot soft Minion and taking part in a specially created Minion-themed game, running through Sunday, August 14.
The family fun continues at Illumination’s award-winning attraction, The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash!” where guests are transformed into stray pups searching for their forever home, and into the immersive land of “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter”! For a glimpse into an authentic film and television production studio, visitors can get a bird’s-eye view aboard the world-famous Studio Tour, which now has several electric streetcars in its current fleet.
Starting today, “The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle TM” returns with a dazzling projection of lights and special effects, set against the backdrop of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. As night falls in the town of Hogsmeade, visitors can enjoy an impressive show, showcasing the four houses of Hogwarts: Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin, accompanied by a special musical arrangement, based on their original soundtracks from the movie series.
This summer visitors will also see the return of the “Special Effects Show”, an entertaining and fast-paced behind-the-scenes look at the world of Hollywood movie magic. The special effects show will run daily from Friday, July 1 through Sunday, August 14, then on weekends only, beginning Saturday, August 20.
