Tommy Nunez Foundation set for 28th annual ketball classic
The Tommy Nunez Foundation’s 28th Annual National Hispanic Basketball Classic will take place August 29th through September 1st at North High School in Chandler Arizona. This event has grown every year and has become a popular and tremendously successful event. It is very competitive and draws on the southwest’s best talent.
Tommy Nunez officiated for the NBA for 30years and is still employed by the NBA. He hosts basketball tournaments and his foundation has provided scholarships to deserving youth for many years. All proceeds go to the Tommy Nunez Foundation, a 501©3, non-profit organization and is used to assist for the continuing education for deserving youth.
The Coachella Valley youth who will be participating as part of “Coachella Valley Heat” pictured, Peter Zuniga, Albert Mares, Andrew Vela, Zeke Esquibel, Rafa Rojas Reyes, Roberto Rodriguez, Joseph Carmona, and coaches Tommy Nunez, Alex Esquibel and Julio Tapia. The players not in the photo who will also be participating, Manuel Lomeli, Mario Hurtado, Basil Cantu and Johnny Flores. The players are all set to head to North High School in Phoenix, Arizona.
