SunLine GoPass iPod Drawing Winner Announced

THOUSAND PALMS, CA – (August 23, 2006) SunLine Transit Agency has announced the winner of its GoPass iPod promotion. Jesse Reyna, a junior at Cathedral City High School, was selected out of all the entrants who purchased a summer Go Pass. Reyna will be given an Apple iPod, which was generously donated by CARQUEST of the Desert.

The drawing concludes a summer-long promotion of SunLine’s Go Pass. The pass was designed to offer the younger segment of the transit agency’s ridership an opportunity to utilize SunBus during a period of time where there is limited transportation options for youths. “With the school bus system out for the season and a lot of free time on their hands, many kids are filled with a void of finding reliable transportation,” states C. Mikel Oglesby, General Manager. “Kids can just hop on board their personal 40ft air conditioned ride (chauffer included) and hit the streets.“ The pass offers riders 5-17 unlimited travel from June through August for a reasonable price of $30.

SunLine Transit Agency maintains and operates 47 buses and 23 paratransit vehicles, logging some 4 million miles and transporting over 3 million riders annually throughout the Coachella Valley.
