¿Sobrevivencia de los más aptos?

Uno de los dogmas más extendidos de nuestro tiempo es el que Charles Darwin consignó, en 1859, en el Capítulo 4 de su libro El origen de las especies. Lo titula: “La selección natural o la supervivencia de los más aptos” y presenta la idea de que, en la lucha por la existencia, “los individuos que tienen ventaja sobre otros tendrían más probabilidades de sobrevivir y procrear su especie”. A estos individuos llama Darwin “los más aptos” o “los más adecuados”.
Uno podría pensar ―y esto es lo que ha pasado hasta hoy― que, cuando se habla de individuos “más aptos”, se refiere a los mejores, a los más desarrollados y que, por tanto, cuando estos individuos prevalecen frente a otros se produce entonces una inevitable “evolución”, un paso hacia adelante, una mejora. Pero esto es falso con sólo analizarlo un poco: vencer ―la mayoría de las veces― violentamente, a otros, no te convierte automáticamente en mejor que ellos, no te hace superior, ni hace que los vencidos pasen a ser “inferiores”.
Este paradigma de un ilusorio progreso, impuesto por el darwinismo, es falso. Y, al ser un principio fundamental de toda su teoría, tiñe toda la perspectiva de la evolución con un manto ideológico más que científico, inclusive con ribetes religiosos.
Preguntémonos, entonces, de nuevo ¿es cierto que los más adecuados (o aptos) prevalecen siempre? ¿Y es cierto que estos individuos son mejores por el sólo hecho de haber aplastado a sus semejantes? Definitivamente, no lo es.
La historia nos muestra una y otra vez que no es esto lo que ha pasado. No son, necesariamente, los más “aptos” los que sobreviven, ni son los más “desarrollados”, ni los más “inteligentes”, ni los más “fuertes”, ni los que cuentan con más “superioridad moral”. Los que prevalecen, a fin de cuentas, son los que ―sin ser intrínsecamente mejores ni superiores que nadie― cuentan con un mayor y mejor potencial físico y bélico, es decir, los que pelean mejor: los más asesinos.
¿Acaso olvidamos la historia reciente? ¿No fue el siglo XX el siglo de los grandes genocidios masivos y públicos? ¿No es nuestro siglo XXI el siglo de los mega genocidios individuales y privados (con el aborto a la cabeza)? ¿Es esto “evolución”?
Ya es tiempo de que aprendamos que, en muchas cosas, la humanidad no está evolucionando. Lo que está haciendo es impedir que los verdaderos “aptos” lo hagan.

He titles it: “Natural selection or the survival of the fittest” and presents the idea that, in the struggle for existence, “individuals who have an advantage over others would be more likely to survive and procreate their species.” Darwin calls these individuals “the fittest” or “the most fit.”
One might think – and this is what has happened until today – that, when speaking of “fittest” individuals, it refers to the best, the most developed and, therefore, when these individuals prevail over others, it then produces an inevitable “evolution”, a step forward, an improvement. But this is false just by analyzing it a little: overcoming – most of the time – violently, to others, does not automatically make you better than them, does not make you superior, nor does it make the defeated become “inferior”.
This paradigm of illusory progress, imposed by Darwinism, is false. And, being a fundamental principle of all his theory, he colors the whole perspective of evolution with an ideological rather than scientific cloak, even with religious edges.
Let us ask ourselves, then, again, is it true that the most suitable (or fit) always prevail? And is it true that these individuals are better just by crushing their fellow humans? Definitely not.
History shows us again and again that this is not what has happened. They are not necessarily the most “fit” who survive, nor are they the most “developed”, nor the most “intelligent”, nor the “strongest”, nor those with the most “moral superiority”. Those who prevail, after all, are those who – without being intrinsically better or superior to anyone – have greater and better physical and warlike potential, that is, those who fight better: the most murderous
Did we forget recent history? Wasn’t the 20th century the century of the great mass and public genocides? Isn’t our 21st century the century of individual and private mega genocides (with abortion at the forefront)? Is this “evolution”?
It is time for us to learn that in many things, humanity is not evolving. What it is doing is preventing the true “fit” from doing so.
