Sexto Aniversario del Centro de Embarazos El Refugio

    

Romanos 12:4-6 “Así como nuestro cuerpo tiene muchas partes y cada parte tiene una función especial, así es con el cuerpo de Cristo. Somos muchas partes de un cuerpo, y todos nos pertenecemos unos a otros. En su gracia, Dios nos ha dado diferentes dones para hacer bien ciertas cosas. Entonces, si Dios te ha dado la capacidad de profetizar, habla con tanta fe como Dios te ha dado”.
Estos versículos del Capítulo 12 de Romanos realmente resumen el maravilloso evento que tuvo lugar en el Centro de Embarazo del Refugio en Indio el jueves 22 de septiembre de 2022. Era su sexto aniversario de estar abierto aquí en el valle. En este viaje de 6 años, Refuge Pregnancy Center (RPC) ha servido y bendecido a tantas mujeres embarazadas y parejas. En este día especial de celebración, varios líderes comunitarios vinieron a apoyar la hermosa causa que esta organización sin fines de lucro valora: la vida. ¡Eso es verdaderamente lo que era una celebración de la vida!
La oración de apertura estuvo a cargo de Israel Orellana, pastor asociado del Centro Cristiano “Fuente de Vida” en Coachella. Era bilingüe (inglés/español) y agradeció a Dios por el valor de la vida y de cada persona que ha contribuido a RPC. Agregó que este centro se basa en los valores judeocristianos de promoción de la vida. También señaló que a pesar de que todos éramos de diferentes denominaciones eclesiásticas, todos estábamos allí con el mismo propósito: apoyar a esta organización que valora y promueve la vida. A esto siguió una bienvenida y una introducción a la misión y la visión de esta organización sin fines de lucro por parte de Craig Waters, presidente de la junta de RPC. Luego hubo un poderoso testimonio de Juanita con su bebé de 2 meses, Melanie, quien ha estado recibiendo servicios de RPC desde que estaba embarazada y continúa yendo allí. Dijo cómo pudo ver a su bebé gracias a la máquina de ultrasonido. También hubo una entrega de premios del gobierno local y estatal. El Dr. Raúl Ruiz envió un representante para premiar a RPC y la Cámara de Comercio de Indio también los reconoció. El alcalde de la ciudad de Indio, Waymond Fermon, también se presentó para felicitar al Sr. Michael Stearns, director de RPC junto con su maravilloso personal. A2
Más tarde, todos salimos para ver el corte del listón y fue un momento impresionante. Después de esto, el Padre Greg Elder, Sacerdote de la Iglesia del Sagrado Corazón en Palm Desert, oró por la nueva Máquina de Ultrasonido 4k y la bendijo con agua bendita. En general, fue un momento bendecido donde los líderes de diversos orígenes se unieron para apoyar esta hermosa causa y ayudar a celebrar el sexto aniversario de RPC.

 

Romans 12:4-6 “Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you.”
These verses from Romans Chapter 12 truly sum up the wonderful event that took place at the Refuge Pregnancy Center in Indio on Thursday September 22, 2022. It was their 6-year anniversary of being open here in the valley. In this 6-year journey Refuge Pregnancy Center (RPC) has served and blessed so many pregnant women and couples. On this special celebration day, several community leaders came to support the beautiful cause that this non-profit organization values: life. That is truly what it was a celebration of life!
The opening prayer was led by Israel Orellana, Associate Pastor for “Fuente de Vida” Christian Center in Coachella. It was bilingual (English/Spanish), and he thanked God for the value of life and every single person that has contributed to RPC. He added that this center is based on the Judeo-Christian values of promoting life. He also pointed out that even though we were all from different church denominations we were all there for the same purpose: to support this organization that values and promotes life. That was followed by a welcome and introduction to the mission and the vision of this non-profit organization by Craig Waters, RPC Board Chair. Then there was a powerful testimony given by Juanita with her 2-month-old baby girl Melanie who has been receiving services from RPC since she was pregnant, and she continues to go there. She stated how she was able to see her baby thanks to the ultrasound machine. There was also a presentation of local and state government awards. Dr. Raul Ruiz sent a representative to award RPC and Indio Chamber of Commerce recognized them as well. The city of Indio Mayor Waymond Fermon also showed up to congratulate Mr. Michael Stearns, RPC Director along with his wonderful staff. A2
Later, we all walked outside to see the cutting of the ribbon take place and that was a breath-taking moment. After this, Father Greg Elder, Priest of Sacred Heart Church in Palm Desert prayed over the new 4k Ultrasound Machine and blessed it with holy water. Overall, it was a blessed time where leaders of diverse backgrounds came together to support this beautiful cause and help celebrate RPC’s 6th Year Anniversary!
