PETER RABBIT FARMS ANNOUNCES 2006 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS

Coachella, CA: Peter Rabbit Farms is pleased to announce this year’s recipients of college scholarships. Children and grandchildren of Peter Rabbit Farms employees who are graduating high school seniors can apply for 2 and 4 year renewable scholarships. Students attending COD or a technical school qualify for the 2 year scholarship of $500 per year and students attending a 4 year college or university program qualify for the 4 year scholarship of $1,000 per year. Students are required to maintain a minimum of 12 units of coursework each semester or quarter and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average. Peter Rabbit Farms established its scholarship program for the 2003/2004 academic year and has previously awarded 5 other scholarships. The recipients for the 2006/2007 school year are:

Diana Anaya

Diana is a recent graduate of Coachella Valley High School and plans to attend COD in the fall. She is the daughter of Javier Anaya who operates a water truck on the farm.

Maria Guadalupe Garcia

Maria is a recent graduate of Indio High School and plans to attend COD in the fall. She is the daughter of Alicia Garcia who works in carrot production.

Elizabeth Garibay

Elizabeth is a recent graduate of Coachella Valley High School and plans to attend California State University at San Bernardino. She is the daughter of Maria del Carmen Garibay who works in carrot production. She is also the sister of Jose who is a junior at CSUSB and also receiving a Peter Rabbit Farms scholarship

Jose Ramon Lopez

Jose is a recent graduate of Indio High School and plans to attend ITT Technical Institute in the fall. He is the son of Margarita Lopez Flores who works in carrot production

Maritza Navarro

Maritza is a recent graduate of Coachella Valley High School and plans to attend Luther College in Iowa. She is the daughter of Evelia Navarro who works in carrot production.
