Padres Protestan contra la Asambleista Shirley Weber en San Diego

Con un grito de “cambia la ley o te cambiaremos Shirley Weber”, padres, abuelos y miembros de la comunidad de diferentes condados de California, se reunieron fuera de la oficina de la asambleísta Shirley Weber. Lamentablemente, se encontraron con presencia policiaca a su llegada, y cuando uno de los padres preguntó a los oficiales si normalmente están asignados a ese edificio, su respuesta fue “no, nos enviaron aquí porque ustedes venían a protestar.” Los padres y miembros de la comunidad trataron de ir a la oficina de Weber para firmar en su hoja diaria y dejar un precedente de que habían estado allí y para qué, pero los guardias de seguridad habían recibido instrucciones de no permitir que nadie dentro del edificio. Después de un par de llamadas telefónicas, a una representante de ATPC, así como a una de CPSD, se les permitió entrar para hablar con uno de los miembros del personal de Weber.
Shirley Weber es autora de la ley AB 329, mejor conocida como la Ley de la Juventud Saludable de California. Esta ley requiere la enseñanza de la Educación de Sexualidad Integral en los grados 7 al 12 y permite que se enseñe de Kínder al 6to grado. Los padres han estado protestando contra esta ley durante dos años, porque introdujo más que educación sexual en las aulas. La educación sexual incluye información más allá de lo estrictamente biológica o científicamente correcto. Va inclusive más allá de la enseñanza de la ideología de género; enseña comportamiento sexual con instrucciones detalladas sobre «cómo hacerlo» como hacer cosas y experimentar sexualmente. Enseña a los estudiantes a negociar encuentros sexuales y a dar y recibir consentimiento sexual, lo que va en contra de las leyes del Código Penal de California que prohíben a cualquier persona menor de 18 años dar consentimiento sexual. Desafortunadamente, debido a que los legisladores de California y el departamento de educación etiquetan este tipo de “instrucción” como “Educación”, las leyes de obscenidad no se aplican a ellos, incluso cuando la enseñanza significa molestar mentalmente a los niños y contribuir a la delincuencia de un menor.
Esta protesta fue organizada por Alliance To Protect Children (ATPC), y se les unieron varias organizaciones aliadas como Padres Informados de California (IPOC), Padres Preocupados de San Diego (CPSD), Padres Unidos por la Libertad y Protección de Todos los Niños (PUFPAC), Con Mis Hijos No Te Metas-sede California (CMHNTM), y POK. With a cry of “change the law or we will change you Shirley Weber,” parents, grandparents and community members from different counties across the state, gathered outside the office of Assemblywoman Shirley Weber. Sadly, they encountered police presence upon arrival, and when one of the parents asked the officers if they are usually assigned to that building, their answer was “no, they sent us here because you guys were coming to protest.” Parents and community members tried to go up to Weber’s office to sign in their daily sheet and leave a precedent that they had been there and for what, but the security guards had been instructed not to allow anyone inside the building. After a couple of phone calls, a representative for ATPC as well as one from CPSD, were allowed inside to speak to one of Weber’s staff members.
Shirley Weber is the author of AB 329, better known as the California Healthy Youth Act. This law requires the teaching of Comprehensive Sexuality Education in grades 7th through 12th and allows it to be taught in Kinder to 6th grade. Parents have been protesting this law for two years now, because it introduced more than sex ed into the classrooms. Sexuality education includes information beyond what is strictly biologically or scientifically correct. It goes even beyond the teaching of gender ideology; it teaches sexual behavior with detailed instructions on “how-to” do sexual things and sexual experimentation. It teaches students to negotiate sexual encounters and to give and receive sexual consent, which goes against California Penal Code laws that forbids anyone under the age of 18 from giving sexual consent. Unfortunately, because California legislators and the department of education label this type of “instruction” as “Educational,” obscenity laws do not apply to them, even when teaching it means to mentally molest children and to contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
This protest was organized by Alliance To Protect Children (ATPC), and joined by several ally organizations such as Informed Parents of California (IPOC), Concerned Parents of San Diego (CPSD), Parents United for the Freedom and Protection of All Children (PUFPAC), Con Mis Hijos No Te Metas-California Chapter (CMHNTM), and POK.
