Mayorkas advierte que las Leyes Migratorias se seguirán Cumpliendo con Rigor en la Frontera

El secretario de Seguridad Nacional Alejandro Mayorkas visitó la frontera sur y advirtió a los inmigrantes indocumentados que no deben confiar en las promesas de los “coyotes”.

El secretario de Seguridad Nacional, Alejandro Mayorkas, reiteró el martes desde la frontera sur su advertencia a los migrantes que tratan de entrar al país de que Estados Unidos “hará cumplir las leyes” de inmigración.
Mayorkas hizo un recorrido hoy por el Valle del Río Grande, Texas, para inspeccionar la situación de la frontera sur, que continúa experimentando una abrumadora llegada de migrantes.

En su mensaje para que no vengan al país sin los documentos requeridos, Mayorkas recalcó que los migrantes no deberían confiar en los traficantes humanos.
“No pongan sus vidas en manos de personas que sólo buscan explotar sus vidas con el fin de obtener ganancias”, dijo.
Añadió que la Administración del presidente Joe Biden está construyendo vías seguras y ordenadas para acceder a los beneficios migratorios que brinda la ley.
También señaló que los procesos penales contra los migrantes “aumentarán” porque han encontrado que “de hecho hay más casos” que justifican este proceso.
La visita de Mayorkas se da cerca de la fecha límite del 23 de mayo cuando se planea poner fin al Título 42, una medida que permite expulsar a los migrantes que buscan ingresar a Estados Unidos debido a la emergencia sanitaria.
El gobierno enfrenta una demanda de varios estados republicanos que han pedido a un juez federal en Louisiana que mantenga la medida en vigor. El viernes pasado ambas partes presentaron sus argumentos y el magistrado debe presentar su fallo en los próximos días.
Al respecto, Mayorkas dijo que el gobierno de Biden acatará las órdenes del juez y que el Departamento de Justicia contestará de acuerdo con las leyes establecidas.
Este martes la Oficina de Aduanas y Protección Fronteriza (CBP) reveló que en abril se registraron 234,088 detenciones de migrantes indocumentados en la frontera, un 5.4 % más que en el mes anterior.
En lo que va del periodo fiscal 2022, iniciado en octubre pasado, la CBP ha efectuado 1,295,900 detenciones de migrantes que cruzaron ilegalmente las fronteras de Estados Unidos.
“El hecho es que nuestras fronteras no están abiertas y seguiremos sacando del país a quienes ingresen ilegalmente y no tengan base legal para quedarse”, señaló el director de CBP, Chris Magnus.

Mayorkas’ visit comes close to the May 23 deadline when it is planned to end Title 42, a measure that allows migrants seeking to enter the United States to be expelled due to the health emergency.
The administration faces a lawsuit from several Republican states that have asked a federal judge in Louisiana to keep the measure in place. Last Friday both parties presented their arguments and the magistrate must present his ruling in the coming days.
In this regard, Mayorkas said that the Biden government will abide by the judge’s orders and that the Justice Department will respond in accordance with established laws.
This Tuesday, the Office of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) revealed that in April there were 234,088 arrests of undocumented migrants at the border, 5.4% more than in the previous month.
