La Prensa Hispana Publisher Honored by City of Indio

The founder and publisher of La Prensa Hispana and La Prensa published weekly in print and on line for over twenty-five years was honored with a proclamation by the City Council of Indio where the newspaper has a regional office.
The “Proclamation” reads in part as follows:
Whereas: Ana Vasquez has been the recipient of many recognitions over the years to include, California “Woman of the Year”, Riverside County Board of Education – “Hall of Fame” inductee, Inland Empire Hispanic Leadership Awards “ Publisher of the Year”,
Founder of the International Hispanic Awards – 14 held to date, Founder of the International Hispanic Film Festival – 14 held to date, Founder of the CV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Animal rescue advocate and prolific contributor, editorially, to community causes:
Now therefore, I Lupe Ramos Watson, Mayor of the City of Indio, do hereby proclaim the month of October as National Women’s Small Business Month and recognize and thank Ana Vasquez, Publisher of La Prensa Hispana and La Prensa, for her service to the residents of Indio and congratulate her on her success. Presented this 7th day of October, 2015.
