Kraft Nabisco Championship now offering “PRO-AM Golf stimulus package”

RANCHO MIRAGE, CALIF.

The Kraft Nabisco Championship has announced its newest Celebrity Pro-Am golf opportunity: the “Pro-Am Golf Stimulus Package.”

The new golf package offers amateur golfers a chance to play in the upcoming Kraft Nabisco Championship’s two-day Celebrity Pro-Am for $5,500. The package is a “play only” Pro-Am opportunity that includes two practice rounds, two Pro-Am rounds with a different LPGA star each day, three evening social events including the Pairings Party on Monday evening, access to the VIP Hospitality Area for the player and a guest from Sunday, March 29, through Wednesday, April 1, golf shirts, KNC/LPGA logo hat and a commemorative team photo. These new “play only” spots are similar to the traditional VIP Celebrity Pro-Am Package but do not include the luxury gift items.

“We know these are tough economic times for many people, and yet we don’t want anyone to miss out on this outstanding opportunity to play with the pros,” said Gabe Codding, business manager for the Kraft Nabisco Championship. “We decided to offer players a second option that is very affordable and a great value. This is the perfect opportunity for those who want to play in a professional Celebrity Pro-Am, but are not necessarily interested in the luxury gift items included in the full package.”

The 2009 Kraft Nabisco Championship has opened up the Celebrity Pro-Am to the general public for the first time in its 38-year history. Since the LPGA tournament’s inaugural event in 1972, the Celebrity Pro-Am spots have been open only to celebrities, LPGA players, and corporate guests and executives from Kraft Foods.

This year’s Pro-Am will be held on Tuesday, March 31, and Wednesday, April 1, on both the Arnold Palmer Course and the Dinah Shore Tournament Course at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif. The Dinah Shore Tournament Course is the home course for the Kraft Nabisco Championship, the first LPGA major tournament of the year on the LPGA Tour. Championship play begins Thursday, April 2, and concludes on Sunday, April 5.

In addition to the top women golfers in the world, the 2009 Kraft Nabisco Championship Celebrity Pro-Am will feature such top names as Ben Roethlisberger, Craig T. Nelson, Dennis Haysbert, Alice Cooper, Lisa Myers and Franco Harris.
