KRAFT NABISCO CHAMPIONSHIP EXTENDS SPONSOR INVITATION TO TOP HIGH SCHOOL PLAYER

RANCHO MIRAGE, CALIF.

The Kraft Nabisco Championship has extended an invitation to play in the upcoming LPGA tournament to 17-year-old Jennifer Johnson of La Quinta, Calif. Johnson is a senior at Desert Christian High School in Bermuda Dunes, Calif.

A 2008 and 2007 Rolex First-Team All American, Johnson finished the 2008 season ranked third in the American Junior Golf Association Polo Rankings and was the winner of the 2008 California Women’s State Amateur Match Play Championship in Monterey. In July of 2008, she won the prestigious Rolex Tournament of Champions by two strokes at the Victoria National Golf Club in Newburgh, Ind. She was also a member of the 2008 U.S. Junior Ryder Cup team at the Club at Olde Stone in Bowling Green, Ky.

Johnson has committed to play at Arizona State University in the fall semester as the #1 AJGA nationally ranked junior golfer from the class of 2009.

Johnson joins four other amateurs who have accepted sponsor invitations to play in the 2009 Kraft Nabisco Championship, scheduled for March 30 through April 5, at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif. The Kraft Nabisco Championship – now in its 38th year – is the first LPGA major tournament of the year. The other amateurs are Tiffany Joh, Azahara Munoz, Candace Schepperle and Alexis Thompson.
