Hundreds of Letters in Support of SB 673 have been sent to the Senate Education Committee in Sacramento

On April 24th the Senate Education Committee will be reviewing Senate Bill 673, which will protect younger children TK-6, by bringing transparency and restoring parental rights, amending AB 329.
Informed Parents of California started a letter writing campaign, and an online petition; within days, more than 14,000 electronic signatures have been submitted in support of SB 673. Along with it, people from the different counties have sent out hundreds of typed and hand-written letters addressed to Senator Mike Morrell, the Author of the bill, and to some members of the Education Committee like Senator Ling Ling Chang, and Connie Leyva.
A group of parents from the Coachella Valley, took to the Indio Swap meet last Wednesday, to raise signatures and informed the community about the law changes, the State-Approved Curriculums, and the updated Health Education Framework. Many parents and grandparents were shocked when they reviewed the recommended books in the Framework, as well as the Web-Based Resources students from the local districts will receive through the new SeXXX Ed curriculum.
Manny Ramirez and his wife Liz, both residents of Indio, raised almost 50 signatures among their friends, and many more at the swap meet. Maura Raudales, another Indio mom, created some visual boards which turned out to be very effective when informing people about the materials schools are now using. In a matter of four hours, about 150 people had already signed letters.
Just from the Coachella Valley alone, almost 900 letters were mailed out last week. IPOC will continue their letter writing campaign until April 20th, since the Senate Education Committee will meet on the 24th. Parents and other members of the community are planning to attend and make a public comment in support of SB 673 to the Senate Education Committee on 4/24 at 9AM. If you wish to attend the hearing, it will be at the California State Capitol, John L Burton Hearing Room (4203), please wear white in support of the protection of the innocence of our California children. #DontMessWithMyKids

Informed Parents of California inicio una campaña para escribir cartas, y una petición electrónica; en cuestión de días, más de 14,000 firmas electrónicas han sido sometidas en apoyo a la SB 673. Junto con eso, gente de los diferentes condados han enviado cientos de cartas impresas y escritas a mano, dirigidas al Senador Mike Morrell, el Autor de la propuesta de ley, y algunos miembros del Comité de Educación como la Senadora Ling Ling Chang, y la Senadora Connie Leyva.
Un grupo de padres del Valle de Coachella, fue al sobre ruedas de Indio el miércoles pasado, a recaudar firmas e informar a la comunidad sobre los cambios en las leyes, los Currículos Aprobados por el Estado, y el Marco de Referencia de Salud actualizado. Muchos padres y abuelos se impactaron al revisar los libros recomendados en el Marco de Referencia, así como los Recursos Basados en la Web que los estudiantes en los distritos locales recibirán a través del nuevo currículo de Educación SeXXXual.
