Glenn Miller takes his place as new Indio Council Member Lupe Watson, Cynthia Hernandez and Sharron Ellis also sworn in
In a swearing in ceremony held Wednesday evening at the City of Indio Council Chambers, Glenn Miller became the newly elected City Council Member. Miller comes to the position of council member from his former position of City Planning Commissioner. A twenty-two year resident of Indio, Miller already has an agenda to bring elements of the city together to work for the progress of the city.
In his first statement directed to the Indio City Council and those in attendance, Milller expressed his desire to see Indio once again become the “hub of the Coachella Valley”. Indio held the hub position for many years and was central to transportation, rail-road and agriculture handling facilities. Indio was also the number one commercial center for many decades.
Lupe Ramos Watson won re-election and was sworn in along with Cynthia Hernandez and Sharron Ellis in a continuation of city leadership. (Photo includes newly sworn in members and also Glenn Miller with wife Steffanie Miller in council chambers).
