El Gobernador Gavin Newsom y los Legisladores Demócratas Continúan Poniendo en Riesgo a la Niñez de California

La semana pasada el Gobernador de California Gavin Newsom, firmó la propuesta de ley AB 175. Esta ley básicamente permite que los hijos de crianza (foster) dirijan sus propias vidas libremente y terminará poniéndolos en un riesgo alarmante. La AB 175 otorga a los niños “el derecho” a tener abortos en secreto y atención en caso de violación. ¿Cómo se dará cuenta un padre de crianza (foster) si u hija ha sido abusada, si ya no tienen derecho a saber, reporter, y apoyar a estos niños si eso llega a suceder? O en los casos en que la niña está siendo abusada por alguien dentro del hogar de crianza, en ese caso los inocentes, tanto la niña como el bebé, serán los que recibirán el castigo mientras el abusador sigue libre y protegido por esta ley. La AB 175 además otorga “el derecho” a confidencialidad en cuanto a los registros de textos y llamadas, manteniéndolos al margen de los padres de crianza. ¿Recuerdan el niño de 11 años en Carolina del Sur que manejó 200 millas para ir a conocer a un hombre que conoció en las redes sociales, específicamente Snapchat? Ahora, con esta nueva ley, ¿cómo podrán los padres de crianza proteger a sus hijos de este tipo de riesgos?
Jonathan Keller, presidente de California Family declaró: “A los Padres de Crianza les importan mucho sus hijos, y desesperadamente quieren protegerlos de abusos, pero ¿cómo pueden hacerlo si se les mantiene en la obscuridad, aun en casos de violación? Parece que el Gobernador Newsom espera que estos Valientes padres de crianza únicamente proporcionen hospedaje y alimentos mientras los niños dirigen sus propias vidas. Ningún buen padre podría descuidar a sus hijos de esta manera.”
“Los niños necesitan estructura y límites para sentirse a salvo y seguros. Si a los padres de crianza no se les permitirá cuidar y tratar a sus hijos de crianza como si fueran propios, ¿entonces que es lo que sigue? ¿van a enviar a internar a estos niños en instituciones de gobierno? Esto es ridículo, están cerrándole las puertas a los padres de crianza conservadores y amorosos que desean nutrir y cuidar a los niños que están en el Sistema, y que ya han sufrido suficiente” dijo America Figueroa, Líder de ATPOC (Alliance To Protect Our Children).

 

Last week California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed AB 175 into law. This bill basically allows foster children freely to run their own lives and will end up putting them at an alarming risk. AB 175 allows children “the right” to secret abortions and rape care. How will a foster parent realize if a child has been abused when they’re no longer entitled to know, report, and support their kids if that ever happens? Or in the rare cases that a foster child is being abused by someone within their foster home, and if that child becomes pregnant from the abuser, the innocent, in this case the baby and foster child will be punished, but the abuser will continue to roam free and protected by this law. AB 175 also allows “the right” to confidentiality in regards to texting and phone call records, keeping away from the oversight of foster parents. Remember the 11-year old boy from North Carolina who drove 200 miles to meet a man he met via Snapchat? Now, with these new law in place, how will vigilant foster parents be able to protect their children from those types of risks?
Jonathan Keller, President of California Family stated: “Foster parents care deeply about their children, and desperately want to protect them from abuse. But how can they do this if the state keeps them in the dark, even if in cases of rape? It seems Governor Newsom expects these brave foster parents to merely provide room and board while kids run their own lives. No good mom or dad would neglect their kids this way.”
“Children need structure, boundaries and limits to feel safe and secure. If foster parents won’t be allowed to care anymore and won’t be allowed to treat their foster kids as their own, what’s going to be next? Are these kids going to be shipped to government institutions? This is ridiculous, they are closing the door for conservative, loving foster parents to continue nurturing and caring for children in the system, and have already suffered enough,” said America Figueroa, Leader of ATPOC (Alliance To Protect Our Children).
