DEZART ONE GALLERY HAS MUST SEE EXHIBITS OF VISUAL VERBALIZATIONS

“Dialogues in Abstraction” Dezart One Gallery presents the work of three abstract painters communicating in a language of their own. The visual verbalizations may depend on the viewer’s ability to assimilate shape, color, and movement by giving voice to it. This show investigates visually, the balance and counterbalances that result from dialogues in abstraction. Kathryn Abernathy: “I love the array of emotions that just a few pigments can bring to a painting. The colors, textures, and techniques that I use in my paintings most often come about as my curiosity runs loose. I would like the viewer to have the same sense of wonder as they contemplate my finished works.”Gegam Kacherian: “The reason I paint is to understand the incidental nature of all things, and the meaning that ties them all together. A painting is born with the first brush stroke. As it is being created, it takes on a life of its own. It is like the dance of the universe, and each painting is a metaphor for humanity.”

Donna Reibslager: “My work has evolved toward abstraction, as I become more focused on the use of color and on achieving a strong and balanced composition. Without over thinking the process, it allows me to be more open to new directions as they present themselves. It is my objective to paint intuitively; to be guided by the process.”

The Artists Reception, which was held at the Dezart Gallery Saturday, March 11th, was well attended in celebration of the talent of these fine artists. “Dialogues in Abstraction” will be featured at the Gallery, located at 2688 Cherokee Way, Palm Springs, through April 23, 2006. Expect something different at the next “Poetry Happening”, an open reading at Dezart Studio. A great deal of excitement has been generated due to the success of this spoken word series. Writers are encouraged to share ideas, poetry, and stories with the audience.

There will be wine and snacks to help make this a true celebration of sharing through words. This free event takes place on the third Saturday of every month.
