Cientos de ciudadanos del Valle de Imperial se Congregaron a Firmar la Petición para Retirar al Gobernador Gavin Newsom de su Cargo

El jueves 17 de octubre, cientos de personas se congregaron en el Imperial Moose Lodge para firmar la petición para destituir al Gobernador actual de California, Gavin Newsom. El evento se llevó a cabo de 5:30 PM a 8:00 PM y durante esas dos horas y media, la línea para firmar no cesó.
El descontento de los Californianos en todo el estado viene a raíz de las leyes y ordenes ejecutivas que ha firmado. Por ejemplo, el haber suspendido la pena de muerte para presos convictos por crímenes capitales, dejando a familias como la de los oficiales Lesley Zerebny and José “Gil” Vega, con una justicia a medias, ya que su asesino fue condenado a muerte, pero gracias a la ordenanza del gobernador, no podrán ver la justicia concluida. Newsom llamó a la pena de muerte “inefectiva, irreversible e inmoral,” y además declaró que “no puedo firmar la ejecución de cientos y cientos de seres humanos;” sin embargo dos meses después emitió una proclamación señalando el compromiso de su estado de “dar la bienvenida a las mujeres a California para ejercer plenamente sus derechos reproductivos” o sea, a abortar. Además de eso, ha firmado leyes controversiales que despojan a los padres de sus derechos, y obligan a maestros a recibir cierto tipo de capacitaciones en contra de su voluntad, y no olvidemos también el problema actual de indigencia en todo el estado, y los impuestos exorbitantes que la ciudadanía, así como los dueños de pequeños negocios deben pagar a diario.
Erin Cruz, quien encabeza esta petición de remoción, estuvo presente en Imperial durante la colecta de firmas y además de hablar unas palabras durante la reunión del Comité Central de Imperial, organizadores del evento. Previo al evento, Ricardo Miranda y José Figueroa, ambos de la ciudad de Brawley, por iniciativa propia se dieron a la tarea de colectar firmas en diversos puntos del Valle de Imperial, y las entregaron ese día en Imperial, lo cual sorprendió tanto a Erin como a quienes encabezan el Comité Central de Imperial. On Thursday, October 17, hundreds of people gathered at the Imperial Moose Lodge to sign the petition to dismiss current California Governor Gavin Newsom. The event was held from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM and during those two and a half hours, the line to sign did not cease.
Californians discontent across the state comes from the laws and executive orders Newsom has signed. For example, the moratorium on the death penalty for prisoners convicted of capital crimes, leaving families like that of officers Lesley Zerebny and José “Gil” Vega, with half justice, since their murderer was sentenced to death, but thanks to the governor’s ordinance, they will not be able to see justice concluded. Newsom called the death penalty “ineffective, irreversible and immoral,” and further stated that “I cannot sign the execution of hundreds and hundreds of human beings;” however, two months later, she issued a proclamation pointing out her state’s commitment to “welcoming women to California to fully exercise their reproductive rights” meaning, abortion. On top of that, he has signed controversial laws that strip parents of their rights, force teachers to receive certain kinds of training against their will, and let’s not forget the homelessness problem throughout the state, the exorbitant taxes the general public and small business owners must pay daily.
Erin Cruz, who leads the recall of Gavin Newsom, was present at Imperial during the collection of signatures and addressed the pubic during the meeting of the Imperial Central Committee, organizers of the event. Prior to the event, Ricardo Miranda and José Figueroa, both from the city of Brawley, on their own initiative, took on the task of collecting signatures at various points in the Imperial Valley, and delivered them that day at the event, which surprised both Erin and the chairs of the Imperial Central Committee.
