They recently visited the Congresswoman to discuss legislation that will continue to assist cancer research. The Wall of Hope banner was signed by the Congresswoman as a symbol of her support. The banner will be displayed in Washington D.C.

    With palm trees swaying, pineapples on every table and the feel of the tropics, the Coachella Senior Center was transformed into the Hawaiian Islands last Friday, August 18th. Approximately 80 seniors dressed in tropical attire and leis participated in this month’s special event, “A Hawaiian Lua.” Nine contestants completed for the luau would be complete without food. Lunch was served with a Hawaiian theme.

    Agua Caliente Tribe Signs New Compact

    Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger of California signed a new Indian Gaming Compact with the Agua Caliente Tribe this week. The tribe which had been at odds with the Governor until recently expressed satisfaction with the new terms.

    The tribe will be allowed to operate up to 5,000 slot machines. The plan is to operate 2,000 each at the tribes existing casinos in Palm Springs and Rancho Mirage and operate 1,000 slot machines in a new casino they were given permission to build as a result of the new agreement.
