Casa For Riverside County Holds Inservice Training
CASA which stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates of Riverside County, Inc. held their monthly In-Service training for November. The featured speaker was Commissioner Robert Nagby.
CASA volunteers work with abused, neglected and abandoned children who are dependants of the Juvenile Court System. Commissioner Robert Nagby reviewed the California Welfare and Institution Codes and informed the staff of new changes taking place in order to improve the complex court system.
A CASA volunteer becomes a Sworn Officer of the Juvenile Court upon successful completion of a 35 hour training program. The next training sessions will begin January, 2005, in Blythe, Indio, Moreno Valley and Murrieta.
