Agua Caliente Hotel Casino Resort Spa open for business

This photo taken Thursday morning shows the completed Agua Caliente Hotel in Rancho Mirage, California on Bob Hope Drive ready for business. The hotel reservation lines have been flooded with calls from many valley visitors who want to enjoy the brand new facility on the opening week-end. Shiela Gallegos who is arriving from Arizona for the International Hispanic Awards wants to experience the new rooms and be the first to taste the luxury of the king sized bath rooms, the brand new carpets, the new sheets, the new beds and just bask in the plush-ness of the new hotel. “ I’m so excited about this week-end” she stated over the telephone, ‘I can hardly wait for the two great events”.

The $300 million dollar hotel has pumped up the economy of the Coachella Vally for the past couple of years and local business has seen the benefits. With a work crew of over 700 construction workers on any given shift, many nearby restaurants felt the tremendous benefits just in that segment of the economy. With drywall coming in by the millions of pounds, concrete being poured by the thousands of cubic yards and electrical fixtures being installed by the thousands, the effects of all the movement and supplies coming into the Coachella Valley has been tremendous according to the local Hispanic Chamber of Commerce-Coachella Valley.

According to Fernando Silva, Executive Director of the chamber, thankfully, the Agua Caliente tribe will continue construction with a large theater entertainment complex they will be creating as part of their Casino-Hotel.

The Hotel is the tallest complex in the Coachella Valley and is located adjacent to Interstate 10 and Ramon Road. The first night available for the hotel rooms April 19th is already booked.

The first event at the new Agua Caliente Hotel on April 19th – the 12th International Hispanic Awards that is coordinated from Indio as part of Hispanic-Image Marketing and La Prensa Hispana Newspaper.
