Over $12,000 in Scholarships – Application Deadline Approaching

Applications for the Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival’s Queen Scheherazade Scholarship Pageant and Magic Carpet Music Scholarship are available online at: www.DateFest.org.
The Queen Scheherazade Scholarship Pageant is open to young ladies who exhibit exceptional character and are students within Riverside County, who will be at least 17 years of age by the day of the Pageant, November 17, 2018, and have not reached the age of 22 by the Fair’s opening day, February 15, 2019. All applicants must be residents or students of Riverside County and have at least an unweighted 3.0 GPA. Queen Scheherazade and her Court will reign over the 2019 Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival, act as the goodwill ambassadors for this event and make many promotional appearances.
The Queen & Court will benefit from experiences with public speaking and media relations. Queen Scheherazade will be awarded a scholarship in the amount of $3,500 and Princesses Dunyazade and Jasmine will each be awarded $3,000.  Applications for the Queen Scheherazade Scholarship Pageant will be accepted until October 11, 2018 at 5:00 pm.
The 4th Annual Magic Carpet Music Scholarship Competition will take place on November 18, 2018. A2

This exciting opportunity is aimed at young, talented artists who will have the chance to showcase their creative skills center-stage and have a shot at winning scholarship monies to the college of their choice!

The competition is open to musically-talented, young adults who think they have what it takes to compete against one another in this memorable contest for the chance at winning scholarship monies and the possibility to play LIVE during the Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival taking place February 15-24, 2018! There will be three categories for contestants to participate in: Vocal, Instrumental and Original Composition. A winner in each category will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship.

All applicants must be residents or students of Riverside County and have at least an unweighted 2.0 GPA. They must also be at least 17 years of age by the day of the Competition, November 18, 2018.Applications for the Magic Carpet Music Scholarship Competition will be accepted until October 18, 2018 at 4:00 pm.

The 73rd Annual Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival is presented by Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, the desert’s leader in gaming and entertainment.
